Walking In The Clouds On Pillar
Lake District Photography
The weather hasn’t been great the last few days so when we saw a sunny spell we decided to head up to Wasdale to climb up to Pillar. We’d attempted this walk in the winter but we ran out of time.
The forecast said rain in the morning and the sun in the afternoon so we decided to try and get the majority of the climb done before the sun came out, unfortunately, the sun never really turned up but it was still a fun day

The sun kept trying to make an appearance but it was mostly cloudy
There were some breaks in the cloud giving views down the valley towards Wastwater
I was clutching at straws at this point as we’d been walking in the clouds for a while without seeing anything. These rocks looked pretty spooky so I set up the camera and got a panorama of the “view”

After dinner the clouds broke again, I ran down to the edge and got a couple of photos before we got surrounded again

We thought about going up Scoat fell and doing more of a circular route but we decided not to bother as we soon got surrounded by clouds again. It made for moody photos but it wasn’t that nice to be there in person.
