Trial And Error Photographing Waterfalls In The Lake District

Trial and error photographing a waterfall in the Lake District

This was another trip out to experiment with the Lee little stopper. The weather wasn’t great, grey sky looking like it’s about to rain so I headed to a quarry which has a little water fall at the end, I was hoping that because I was at the top of the quarry looking down, the sky wouldn’t matter. My ankle is still playing up so there still wasn’t to much exploring in this video, hopefully it will be back to normal for when the decent weather returns.

Experimenting With Shutter Speeds

Since starting the behind the scenes videos I’ve been thinking about the reasonings behind why I do/don’t like certain things. I usually either do or don’t like something and that’s that, I think I don’t like the long exposure waterfalls because they’re too soft. I like the contrast and clarity in images so the 2 don’t really go together

I think 1/6 seconds is around where I like the water. Still some of the water detail plus you can see the movement. Use the arrows to swipe through the photographs
