The Road Into The Lake District

This is my favourite section of road when I’m coming home from the motorway as it makes me think of the road into the Lake District. This is the view from one of the bridges over the High Newton bypass. As we got there the sun was starting to set behind the Lake District mountains. From here you can see the Coniston range and the surrounding fells.
It’s a really awkward place to photograph as there is a huge fence to stop things falling onto the main road below, I extended the tripod as high as it would go and just about made it. Catching the sunset over the almost empty Road. It’s not a bad view to start your trip in the Lake District
