The Great Wall Of Windermere. The Fairfield Horseshoe
Lake District Print
I was descending from the Fairfield horseshoe as the sun was beginning to set looking for compositions using this wall. I climbed up here to redo an old photo but after wandering * around I found this composition which highlighted the wall better than I had imagined.
The left-hand side of the composition is in the shadow due to the low light, the stone wall caught the last of the sun and it highlighted the top of the ridge leading down. The Lakes doesn’t have any great walls, but if it did this would be one of them. So I named it “The Great Wall of Windermere”
* when I say wandering, I mean running. Trying to make it down before it got dark *
