Taking In The View From Helvellyn
Lake District Print
My dad at the top of a snow-covered Helvellyn taking in the views as the sun started to go down
This was from my first proper adventure with a DSLR. My dad and I decided to climb up Helvellyn as the Lake District had received a lot of snow. We started down in Patterdale and made our way up to the hole in the wall. Walking past red tarn before making our way up Swirrel edge. Most of the snow had turned into ice at the top so we followed deep icy footprints for most of the climb which made it a little trickier.
We stopped at the top for a little while near the shelter at the top. My dad stood up to take in the view back towards where we live as the sun was starting to set. As pretty as it was, that was a sign to get off the mountain before it was dark
