Lake District Landscape Photography
Pillar, the Lake District
We were probably being a bit optimistic with our timings but we decided to make the most of having a courtesy car whilst my car in the garage for it’s MOT – may as well put the miles onto their car rather than mine…
We started from Wasdale head Inn and made our way up the valley, Kirk Fell to our right and Red Pike to our left. It was quite a simple walk as the track was clear without any snow, so at least it served a purpose of scouting out the route for another day.
We made it up to a flat bit just below the ascent up to Pillar but after realising the time we realised we’d got the maths wrong and we wouldn’t make it up to the top and be back in Barrow before 17:30 so we had dinner, took in the views and made our way back down again.
