Reflections On Haweswater. The Lake District

Looking up into the clouds from the side of Haweswater as the fells reflected in the water as we made our way to the end of the water to climb up High Street. These clouds soon turned into rain and we had to hide behind a wall for 30 minutes to avoid the worst of it, other than that it was a great day.

This part caught my attention on the drive down the side of water because of the straight lines of the sun covered fell cutting through the dark shadows in the water

We decided to just suck it up and carry on the walk and fortunately, the rain stopped and the mist came in. As we got to Blea tarn this helicopter came up, dropped some flairs, circled around and then waved at us and then left. It was pretty surreal and it was the best part of the day. You can see the pilots and people inside when you look closely.

We weren’t expecting the day to go very well when we were hiding from the rain but once we saw this we realised it was pretty special, it was definitely a turning point in the day
