Buttermere through the clouds from the Cairn on Fleetwith Pike

Stood above the cairn on top of Fleetwith Pike as the clouds roll through the valley opening up the view of Buttermere. The sun was lighting up small spots on the surrounding fells and the clouds rolled over the fell tops.

This day didn’t have the best of starts as we walked up with almost no views the whole way as we were in the clouds. Fortunately, as we got to the top the wind picked up pushing the clouds through the valley over Buttermere and Crummock opening up the views. I stood up above the cairn getting the rocks and the water into the photograph with the clouds rolling through the valley

Sunlight breaking through the clouds onto Fleetwith Pike and Buttermere

Stood looking down the edge of Fleetwith pike as the clouds rolled through the valley occasionally leaving clear views of Buttermere and Crummock Water. The sun kept trying to break though aswell lighting up patches on the surrounding fells.

The climb up to Pillar . The Lake District

A winters day on Pillar in the Lake District with patches of snow scattered on the fells. We decided to make our way up, starting from the Wasdale Head Inn and making our way up following the river. From this point, you could look down the track that people had used to walk through the middle of the snow leading up to the last ascent of Pillar. The track made for a nice leading line drawing your eye up the mountain.

I always try to hide my dad in the Landscape photos when we go out walking together, I stayed back and waited for him to get ahead and waited until he was in a good position, if you look closely you’ll be able to find him
