Making A Ground Level Camera Stand For Wildlife Videos and Photography (Cheap DIY)

I’ve been videoing the hedgehogs and little mice that have started coming out in my garden. After filming a variety of different angles I wanted to get lower down and onto the same level of the animal

My tripod has a centre column which meant it wouldn’t go that low. The 1st tripod on Amazon was £69.95 (https://amzn.to/2I5T3vf) so I figured I could do basically the same thing, just with a piece of scrap wood. It works well and doesn’t take very long to make

Before you ask “Isn’t it just a tripod ball head screwed onto a piece of wood?” The answer is, yes, it doesn’t have to be complicated to work

I had the ball head laying around in my cupboard, the plank of wood was a scrap piece (free) and the bolt cost about 30p. This seemed like the quickest/easiest solution
