Heather And The Langdale Pikes. Side Pike. The Lake District

Lingmoor Fells name originates from the Old Norse word lyng meaning “heather-covered”.  The slightly smaller accompanying Side Pike also shares the Heather covered tradition.

I walked up from Blea Tarn to get the views across to the Langdale Pikes. This scene framed itself as the tracks through the Heather led your eyes towards the iconic skyline
