Fleetwith Pike. The Lake District
Fleetwith Pike is one of the fells surrounding Buttermere in the North Western part of the Lake District. At the top of Fleetwith Pike you get great views down onto Buttermere and Crummock water.
There’s a picturesque cairn at the top plus if you drop down the Buttermere side a little bit you can get the steep slope leading down to the valley floor.
I usually come up here either from starting at Buttermere and then climbing up Haystacks and then circling back down via Fleetwith Pike or if I’m feeling like being kind to my legs I start from Honister Pass. Same views, easier climb.

You get a mixture of views on this walk. If you start from the Honistor side, you get views of the mine workings on the climb.
If you start from Buttermere you get the views back down onto Buttermere and Crummock Water. Fleetwith Pike has a pretty steep ascent which offers a dramatic foreground for photographs.
