Ground Level Base For Wildlife Photography
Recently I have been videoing the hedgehogs that have just come out of hibernation. I mostly shot on a big tripod but I was unable to get the angle I actually wanted. Being at eye level with the animals seems to make everything more realistic so I looked into getting a tripod without a centre column
The first result on Amazon pulled up a tripod by Manfrotto which looked ideal. The main downside was the cost of £69.95. After about 5 seconds thinking I realised a plank of wood would do just the same thing for what I was doing…

Here are some close-up photos of the setup. You may be thinking that’s just a plank of wood with a tripod ball head on it, and you’re right. Simple fix
