I put it to the vote on my Instagram page again and you wanted to see views from on top of Coniston Old Man, Dow Crag and the next hill on the horizon. After checking the map I realised it was called White Maiden. I’d never done it before so it looked like a good one to try.
I climbed up the Walna Scar road and then went left on the crossroads and along White Maiden, I might return here for a sunset now I know how easy the walk across is. From here I climbed Dow Crag and had a little adventure down Eay gulley down to the finger and thumb formation with views down to Coniston water.
I carried on up to Dow Crag and then up to the Old man before dropping down passed the mines whilst it was still light, which turned out to be a good idea as it was pretty icy on the other side
